Creating events using ‘Quick Add’

     

When a teacher is looking at their own individual calendar, they can quickly create a ‘Quick Add’ event for themselves by clicking and dragging the event on their calendar. This feature is designed to enable teachers to quickly add personal appointments to their calendar, not for the creation of school events.

 

Teachers can only create Quick Add events on their own calendar – they can’t create them on another staff member’s calendar. Quick Add events are recorded as private events, and therefore won’t show on the main Events | Manage screen. They are given the event category of ‘Appointment’.

Also, because Quick Add events are private, any classes the teacher has on within the duration of the event won’t show in the covers area of iWise.

Quick Add events only have one attendee – the person who has created the event.

lightbulb_on  Although normally staff members can only create Quick Add events on their own calendars, iWise does provide the ability for appointment creation on one person’s calendar to be delegated to another (for    example, a PA). Please speak to Civica if you would like this set up for individuals at your school.

lightbulb_on  Because Quick Add events are private, they won’t show on Event | Manage. They can be seen however, if you have Admin or Calendar Admin permissions and you specify the teacher in the Attendee drop down list in the search area.
