How to a task using the scaling method of your choice

To scale a task with any method other than the default, you will use the Publishing and Scaling tab on the Full Task Edit popup.

1.Locate the task you wish to scale, right click on it and select Full Task Edit.
2.Click on the Publishing and Scaling tab.

The top right half of this tab is showing the Current Scaling Method. If you haven’t scaled this task before this area is going to show ‘Out of Scaling’. This is because this is the default scaling method in iWise. Once you have scaled the task the information in this area will change.

Below the Current Scaling Method information is a dropdown list of available scaling methods.

3.From the Scaling Method drop down list, select the scaling method you wish to use.

4.Depending on the method selected you will then need to enter new values for scaling.

5.Once you have entered the new values, click Scale Now (in the top right area of the tab).

6.The task will then be scaled. A graph of the scaled distribution of marks appears in the bottom left of this tab – which you can use to compare to the raw distribution.

7.If you would like to change the way the task is scaled enter new values and click Scale Now again.
8.If you are happy with the scaled marks, click Save.
9.Click Close.
10.An additional column then appears in the main grid, next to the task you just scaled, which shows the scaled marks.

lightbulb_on   In the example screen shot above, the original task has been flagged for rounding to 1 decimal place. One the main screen, the original task shows the raw mark, and the scaled mark column shows the final mark, including rounding. When scaling a task, iWise will scale first and apply rounding second.
