How to mark an event roll |
As we have seen above, event attendance is displayed, and rolls can be marked from the Mark Event Roll popup on a teacher’s calendar (also on their My Day screen) or from the Mark Roll tab on the event details popup. Individual student’s attendance to the event can also be marked from the attendance management screen (Data Entry | Attendance | Manage).
From a teacher’s calendar A teacher must be recorded as an attendee of the event for them to be able to mark the event roll from their Calendar.
Look for and double click on the event.
This brings up the Mark Roll pop. Mark a student absent from the event by selecting ‘Absent’ in the Absence column. If the student is absent from the event, but you know they are at school, you have the option to select ‘Back at School’ in the Absence column. However, if you are the teacher at the event and marking the roll, it is better to just mark what you see in front of you and mark the student absent. Then, if the student is actually sitting back at school, this can be adjusted by a staff member back at school.
If a student is late to an event or leaves early, leave the Absence type as ‘On Event’ and modify the times in the Time In and Time Out column
When you have finished marking the roll, click Save.
From a teacher’s My Day screen A teacher’s My Day screen is similar to their calendar and marking an event roll from either screen is done in virtually the same way. Choosing to use this screen or your calendar screen is simply a matter of personal choice and convenience.
Click the Event Mark Roll icon for the event, and mark the roll as described above.
