Specifying pastoral subject, faculties and units

      

Often a school will require Year 11 and 12 two unit subjects to display a mark out of 100 and one unit subjects to display a mark out of 50. In order to correctly display this information on reports one unit subjects need to be specified in iWise.

 

lightbulb_on Only 1 unit subjects need to be specified. By default, iWise will assume all subjects are 2 unit.

 

1)Go to Calendar | Timetable | Manage Subjects.
2)Search for and click on the subject you wish to work with.
3)Enter the number ‘1’ into the Units field.
4)Save and repeat for other one unit subjects.

 

This screen is also used to assign a subject to a faculty and indicate that a subject is a pastoral subject.

lightbulb_on  Each student has to have only one pastoral subject. This subject is used to store the pastoral carer and head comments. The teacher of this subject is drawn from your student admin system (eg iWise Professional, SAS or Maze), whilst the allocation of the subject to the student is done in your timetabling package (iWise Professional, EdVal, Timetabler etc).
