1. Search area

The Search area is where you start. When using the markbook the first thing you do is select a subject from the Search for Subject drop down list. If you are creating a task for just one class (rather than the whole subject) you also use the Select for Class Tasks drop down list.

If you have not used the markbook before the Date Range fields will be set from today to one month in the future. Tasks that fall within the date range will be displayed on screen. Tasks that fall outside of this date range will be hidden.

You can modify the date range to allow you to search for a specific task by date, or to increase or reduce the number of tasks that are displayed at once.

Next to the Search button is an information icon. This icon will either be shown in green or red. When it is shown in green all tasks that have been created are being displayed in the main grid. When the icon is shown in red there are tasks that occur outside the date range you have specified.

The Advanced button in the search area allows you to display exam numbers for students instead of their name, and allows you to search by campus (if your iWise is set up with multiple campuses) and/or task category.

lightbulb_on  The selections your make in the search area are remembered. If you do some work in the markbook, then go away and come back again, the subject, class and date range you were working with       last time will already be selected.
