Absence notification by email or SMS

     

Please note that this function has not yet been released. It is due for release by the start of
term 2, 2012. Until this function is available to notify parents and staff of absent and/or late students please use the existing notification screens located in the Absence Notify menu.

 

Once absence records have been created, parents and staff can be notified. This is done via the Actions area of Data Entry | Attendance | Manage.

 

lightbulb_on For an absence record to be included in email or SMS notification the following must be in place:

1)The absence type itself must be flagged to be included in notifications;
2)The iWise settings to allow email and SMS notification to parents and staff must be turned on;
3)To send SMS messages your school must have an SMS account and iWise needs to be correctly configured. Please speak to Civica if you would like help setting up SMS in iWise; and
4)The parents’ email addresses and/or mobile phone numbers must be correctly recorded. For iWise professional schools these are managed via Home | Students | Enrolments, on the Carers tab. For schools using iWise with Maze, Synergetic or SAS, email addresses and mobile phone numbers are managed there.
