Creating absences for multiple consecutive days

If a student is going to be away from school for more than one day you can create multiple day absence records via the Name field popup. Simply modify the From Date and To Date fields (plus any other relevant fields) before you click Make Absent.

Absence records for each of the days are then created. Although they are individual records, iWise will remember that they were created as a group. If you then go to edit one of the records in the group, via the main grid, iWise will ask you if you also want to edit the others.

When creating absences for multiple days, iWise will only allow you to create multiple whole day records. You are not able to create late or early leave records for multiple days.

If a student is going to be away from school for part of the day, at the same time, for a number of days in a row, this is most likely to be because of a school related event – such as shared enrolment at TAFE, or work experience. School related events should be recorded in the calendar area of iWise. If you don’t want to use the calendar area of iWise to record that a student is away for part of the day, for a number of consecutive days, you will need to create individual absence records.

Please speak to Civica if you would like instructions on how to use the iWise calendar to record that a student is attending a recurring event.
