Customising your iWise menus |
Depending on the specific report set up at your school you may like to consider customising the iWise menus to help make iWise more intuitive for teachers. For example, if your school uses Home Room groups instead of Pastoral groups, you may like to change the name of the menu titled ‘Pastoral’ to ‘Home Room Reports’. Or for example, if you issue three academic reports in a year – an interim report in March, and full semester reports in July and November – you may like to use S1 for your interim reports and S2 for the two semester reports. In this case it would make sense to change the menu label S1 to ‘interim reports’ and the S2 label to ‘semester reports’. The customisation of the menus is usually done at the same time as the academic report is set up, often by Civica. Through the Home | Admin | Menus screen users with Admin permissions can hide unused menus, change their order and/or change their name.
You can change the labels from 'Semester 1' and 'Semester 2' to something more appropriate (eg 'Interim' and 'Semester' via the settings 'ACADEMIC_SEMESTER1_LABEL' and 'ACADEMIC_SEMESTER2_LABEL'.
