Finding unmarked rolls

Please note that this screen has not yet been released. It is due for release by the start of
term 2, 2012

As teachers mark their class rolls each period, the roll marking icon will change once a roll has been marked:

Marked roll

Unmarked roll

If your job is to chase up unmarked rolls then you may prefer to see all rolls on the one screen. This can be done via Data Entry | Attendance | Rolls Marked.

When you come to this screen, if you have Absence Admin or Admin permissions you will see all teachers in the main grid. If you don’t have these iWise permissions you will only see yourself.

The screen defaults to today, and will be showing the roll marking status of each period your school has flagged for period marking.

If you want to move to the previous or following day, click on the left and right date navigation arrows next to the date display. Or if you want to jump to a specific day, click on the calendar icon between the arrows and select the date.

As you hover over each cell you will be able to read details about the period:

Colours used on the main grid indicate the following:

Green

The roll has been marked.

Red

The period has been set up for mandatory roll marking, and the roll has not been marked.

Grey Red

The period has been set up for optional roll marking, and the roll has not been marked.

Light Grey

The teacher does not have a lesson in this period, the teacher is away or the class has been cancelled.

Dark Grey

The class is in the future.

When you click on a teacher’s name in the main grid, their contact details and calendar for today will load on the right side. The teacher’s email address displayed here is a link - click on it to send an email to this teacher. If your school is using SMS through iWise then the teacher’s mobile phone number is an SMS link. Again, click on it to send an SMS to this teacher.

lightbulb_on If you are sending an email to remind the teacher to mark their roll, there is a quicker way to do this for all teachers at once. See the following section for more information.

The Actions area also provides the option to print two reports that may be useful when managing roll marking:

Rolls Not Marked

This report provides a printable version of the main grid

Roll Marking Stats

This report shows the average, shortest and longest time a teacher takes to mark their roll.
