Managing event calendars

     

Calendars are used to both colour and group events for easy filtering and recognition on Events | Manage and on teacher’s individual calendar screens.

Typically, schools will have calendars set up for each of their school years. (the Year 7 calendar, the Year 8 calendar etc). When you are creating and managing your school events, if you put them onto the relevant school calendar you will easily be able to see everything that is going on for a particular school year.

Events can belong to more than one calendar. For example, the years 7 and 8 science incursion can be on both the Year 7 Calendar and the Year 8 calendar.

The different calendars you have, plus the calendar colour is managed via Calendar | Events | Calendars.

 

To add or edit the available calendars:

1.Go to Calendar | Events | Calendars.

To add a new calendar, in the top right area – Set Calendar Detail, click Add.

Enter the name of the calendar in the Description field.

 

If the Default for Quick Add box is ticked, any event you create by clicking and dragging, or double clicking in the day/ week/ month view will automatically be added to this calendar.

Only have one calendar with this box ticked.

 

This field is only relevant to iWise Professional users. If the Appears on Login Page box is ticked any event that is included in this particular calendar will appear on the iWise Professional login screen. You can have any number of calendars with this box ticked.

 

Select a Colour for the calendar. The colour is used to display events on people’s calendars and also on the day, week and month views of Calendar | Events | Manage.

Click Save to save your new calendar.

 

lightbulb_on  To edit or delete a calendar click on it from the list on the left. This loads details about it in the top right. Edit as required, or use the Delete button to remove it.
