Searching for the absence history of an individual student

When searching for the absence history of an individual student, the easiest way is to use the Name field in the Search area.

1)Type all or part of a student’s first name or surname into the Name field.

It is easier to not type the student’s full name – just the first few letters is enough. A barcode reader or swipe machine will also work on this screen.

2)Click Search.
3)You then see the Select Student popup. Click on the student you are looking for.

4)This popup closes and you see the Student Absence popup.

This popup can be used to display the student’s absence history as well as create absence records. To display the student’s absence history click Show All Absences.

A condensed absence history is also visible on the right of this popup. Records shown here are read only.

5)The popup closes and the student’s absence history is displayed in the main grid. The date range has been set to the beginning of the year and only absences (including Events and Sickbay) are displayed.
6)To return the main grid to the defaults (display today’s records, and show all students) click the Reset button in the Search area. (Next to the Search button.)

Clicking the sub menu button ‘Manage’ will also reload the screen and reset the search area.

lightbulb_on If you don’t need a full absence history but just want to see how many times a student has been absent or late, hover over their name in the main grid.

The records included in the Absences count include whole day absences only, and don’t include events or sickbay.

The records included in the Late count include only the times where a student was late for school at the beginning of the day. It does not include events or sickbay, or late arrival to individual periods throughout the day.
