Covering teachers who are attending events

If a teacher is recorded as an attendee at an event, an absence record will be created for them. The absence record plus the classes they will miss can be found and managed in the covers area of iWise. This will happen automatically, as long as the event is approved.

The screen shot below is showing teachers who are attending the ‘Cricket Gala Day’. Note that they have been automatically given the absence reason of ‘Official School Business’ and then the name of the event.

The only time an absence record is not created for a teacher – and therefore their classes not appearing in the covers area - is if the event is flagged as ‘personal’.
