Entering outcome and profile descriptions

     

The outcome and profile descriptions are entered into iWise so that teachers can mark their reports. Outcome and profile descriptions are specified by subject (not by class) and this is done via Academic | Admin | Manage Subjects.

1)Go to Academic | Admin | Manage Subjects.

You will be entering outcome and profile descriptions for subjects. If individual classes within subjects need different outcome or profile descriptions you will need to make the classes separate subjects in your timetable.

lightbulb_on   The outcome and profile descriptors you are entering will be for the current academic report period. So before you start editing the descriptions make sure you have created your new report period and set it as the current period on the iWise defaults screen.

The descriptions you used in the last report period will automatically be there in the current one. If you would like to reuse descriptions you have used previously – but not in the last report period – use Academic | Admin | Copy Outcomes to copy them across.

2)Search for your subject in the top Search area. You need to make sure you click the Search button.

3)Click in the subject row.

4)This brings up the Subject Descriptors management screen.

Across the top are two Strand tabs and one Profile tab for each slot S1 and S2. iWise allows for 25 outcomes descriptions and 20 Profile descriptions per subject, per report Slot (sometimes called Semester).

Outcome descriptions are entered on the Strand tabs and profile descriptions on the Profiles tabs.

5)To enter outcome descriptions click on S1: Strand 1 – 10 (or S2: Strand 1 – 10 depending on which slot you are entering them for).
6)Enter the outcome descriptions into the Description fields.

You can also copy and paste the information into these fields if you prefer.

 

 

7)Click Submit to save your work.
8)If you have more than 10 outcome descriptions enter the rest on the Strand 11 – 25 tab.

The Heading field on this tab can be used if you want to group your outcomes in sub headings.

Profile descriptions are entered in a similar way on the Profiles tabs.
