Spell checking comments

Individual teacher and pastoral comments can be spell checked as they are entered. Alternatively, teacher comments for whole classes or pastoral groups can be checked and compared to the previous Semester’s comment on the Spelling screens.

 

Spell checking teacher comments as they are entered

1)To spell check class comments as they are entered first use Academic | Class | S1 (or S2) Marks to find your class.
2)Make sure you can see the comment entry boxes. To display these boxes use the 2nd icon in the Options row:


 

3)Click on 4th icon in the Options row.

4)This brings up the Spell Checker in a new window. Correct the spelling as required.

5)When you have finished click Save.

 

Spell checking individual pastoral comments

1)Select your pastoral group using Academic | Pastoral | All Subs S1 (or All Subs S2).
2)Scroll to the bottom of the screen where you will find the pastoral comment entry field.
3)Use the Spell Check button to bring up the spell check window.
4)Correct spelling as required and click Save Pastoral.

 

Spell checking using the ‘Spelling’ screens

Both Academic | Class and Academic | Pastoral have a Spelling sub menu. The purpose of these screens is to allow you to spell check comments in bulk and also to compare comments to the other semester. Both screens work in the same way.

1)Go to Academic | Class | Spelling and select the class you wish to work with. (Or Academic | Pastoral | Spelling and select your pastoral group.)
2)Comments for Semester 1 and Semester 2 are loaded.
3)Click Spell Check S1 or Spell Check S2.
4)The spell checker is opened in a new window. Correct spelling as required and click Save.
