Pastoral (home room) teachers and pastoral class lists

Pre report cutoff date: For schools using iWise professional the pastoral teacher is managed via Home | Staff | Manage. Students are assigned pastoral groups via Home | Enrolments | Manage or Home | Students | Bulk Edit.

For schools using iWise with SAS, Maze or Synergetic the pastoral teacher and pastoral classes are managed in your external package. Changes made in the external package are seen in iWise after the next scheduled sync.

Post cutoff date: Both schools using iWise Professional and iWise Link can manage individual student’s pastoral teachers via Academic | Admin | Student Demographics. Please speak to Civica if you need to make a global change.

Pastoral subjects for reporting

If your report includes a cover page or pastoral report you will need a pastoral subject. This is managed on Calendar | Timetable | Manage Subjects.

Subject faculties

If your timetable package allows you to specify a subject’s faculty this information should be maintained in your timetable package. If not, this information should be maintained via Calendar | Timetable | Manage Subjects. Putting subjects into faculties allows HODs to review reports via Academic | Faculty.

Subject units

One unit subjects need to be specified as such if you require a report to show a final mark different to that of 2 unit subjects. This is specified on Calendar | Timetable | Manage Subjects.

Subject report names

By default, the subject name for report printing is taken from the Long Description field shown on Calendar | Timetable | Manage Subjects. This can be overridden using the Report Name field on the same screen.

Subject report order

iWise allows you to specify the order in which subjects appear on reports. This is managed via Calendar | Timetable | Manage Subjects, in the Report Order field.

Subject overview

The subject overview that can be printed on reports is entered via Academic | Admin | Manage Subjects.

Hide non-reportable subjects

Not all subjects (or classes) require a report. Non-reportable subjects are managed via Academic | Admin | Manage subjects.

Non reportable classes are managed via Academic | Admin | Class Data.

Special access for Heads of Department

iWise allows Heads of Department to have access in the Academic module and in the Markbook to classes in their faculty other than the ones they teach.

Special access for Year Coordinators

Year Co ordinators are able to review reports in year groups. In order to do this the role of Year Coordinator needs to be specified in iWise.
